Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council Announces 2026 Regional Resiliency Summit

Two-day event to spotlight innovation, adaptation, and sustainable growth across the Tampa Bay region


TAMPA BAY, Fla.
— The Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC), in partnership with its Regional Resiliency Coalition, is proud to announce the 6th Regional Resiliency Summit, taking place May 14–15, 2026, at the Palmetto Marriott Resort. This highly anticipated event will bring together local governments, planners, engineers, industry leaders, and community partners to explore forward‑thinking solutions that strengthen the region’s vitality.

The 2026 Summit will focus on innovation in mitigation, adaptation, and sustainable growth, highlighting emerging technologies and novel strategies designed to help communities better prepare for future challenges. Attendees can expect engaging keynote speakers, dynamic panel discussions, interactive breakout sessions, and meaningful networking opportunities with peers and sponsors from across the region.

“The Regional Resiliency Summit is where ideas turn into action,” said Wren Krahl, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council. “By bringing together innovators, decision‑makers, and community champions, we are creating space to share solutions that will help our region grow stronger, safer, and more sustainable for generations to come.”

Keynote Speaker

Our keynote speaker will be Moez Limayem, PhD, Ninth President of the University of South Florida. Moez Limayem, has an energetic, passionate and collaborative style. He is a strategic leader with a record of achievements in student and faculty success, development and industry-education partnerships.  Throughout his career, he has emphasized the role of universities as engines of opportunity, innovation and economic impact.

Future of the Region Awards

A highlight of the Summit will once again be the 32nd Annual Future of the Region Awards, presented during the Resiliency Summit luncheon on May 15, 2026. The awards recognize outstanding projects, people, and partnerships shaping a resilient and vibrant Tampa Bay.

Innovation Showcase

New for 2026, the Summit will feature an Innovation Showcase, providing a platform for organizations to demonstrate cutting‑edge technologies and solutions. Selected participants will present a five‑minute video spotlight in the main ballroom, followed by live, interactive demonstrations.

About the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council

The Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council brings together governments to coordinate planning for the community’s future and provide an opportunity for sharing solutions among local government jurisdictions in the Tampa Bay region. TBRPC works with six counties and 21 municipalities on long‑range planning efforts focused on resiliency, climate change and sea level rise, environmental management, water quality, emergency preparedness, coastal zone management, housing and infrastructure, transportation planning, and economic analysis.
