Annual Funding for Stormwater Outreach Programs
Each year the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council manages a stormwater education funding opportunity provided by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This funding aims to support public involvement, education, and outreach efforts to improve the quality of stormwater runoff in the Tampa Bay region.
Projects must be located in Pinellas, Hillsborough, or Pasco Counties. Projects develop and implement creative outreach programs to garner public support and stewardship by explaining the concept of stormwater, why management is important, and what communities can do to help.
This funding opportunity provides financial support for supplies, activities, and educational materials related to a stormwater education project. Example materials and activities include brochures or fact sheets, recreational guides, websites, bumper stickers, posters for bus stops, billboards, videos, event participation, children’s educational programs, storm drain stenciling or placards, tributary or watershed signage, and more. All program materials and resources are available for use and Committee members and awardees are happy to share their information and tips.
