TBRPC is proud to have facilitated a free, in-person, two-day training led by the NOAA Office for Coastal Management on coastal inundation mapping on August 19 & 20, 2026.
A total of 26 GIS professionals, Certified Floodplain Managers, and scientists participated, representing organizations from across the Tampa Bay region, including Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Manatee Counties, the City of St. Petersburg, the Florida Flood Hub, and more.
As sea levels rise and extreme weather events become more frequent, technical training like this helps equip local governments and partners with the tools needed to better prepare for high tide flooding, hurricanes, and intense rainfall events.
TBRPC thanks Doug Marcy and Matthew Pendleton for traveling from NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management in Charleston, SC, to share their expertise and lead this valuable training.
Working together, we’re strengthening our region’s ability to anticipate, plan for, and respond to coastal flood risks.
