TBRPC Celebrates the Agency on Bay and Coastal Management’s 40th Anniversary

Agency on Bay and Coastal Management's 40th Anniversary Celebration

September 5, 2025 marked a truly special occasion for the Tampa Bay community as the Agency on Bay and Coastal Management (ABCM) celebrated an incredible milestone — 40 Years of Environmental Stewardship.

Held at the scenic Tampa Bay Watch facility in Tierra Verde, the event brought together longtime supporters, environmental advocates, and community partners to reflect on four decades of hard work, collaboration, and progress in protecting and restoring Tampa Bay’s precious bay and coasts.

The celebration honored the countless individuals and organizations who have contributed to ABCM’s mission since its founding in 1985. Many attendees had been involved since the early days, while others were newer members of the growing community — a testament to the enduring impact and expanding reach of the agency’s work.

The program included brief remarks from ABCM leadership, past directors, and local environmental partners who shared stories of major milestones — from successful habitat restoration projects to water quality improvements and community education efforts that have helped shape the future of Tampa Bay.

The TBRPC recognized key volunteers and staff whose dedication over the years has made a lasting difference. It was a reminder that environmental stewardship isn’t just about science and policy — it’s about people.

Special Thanks

This unforgettable event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Tampa Bay Watch, whose beautiful space provided the perfect backdrop for both celebration and reflection.

Looking Ahead

While the afternoon was spent honoring the past, the mood was unmistakably forward-looking. As ABCM moves into its fifth decade, there’s renewed energy and commitment to continue protecting Tampa Bay for generations to come.
