Activities
Providing Clarity in Decision Making
Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC) staff assist communities and organizations to predict how policy decisions or economic events can affect the regional and state economy using state-of-the-art economic and fiscal impact analysis software. TBRPC staff employ a number of tools to provide the Tampa Bay community with high quality and low-cost analysis, including IMPLAN® (an input input/output model) and REMI PI+® (a highly sophisticated econometric model).
TBRPC staff has extensive training in economic and fiscal impact modeling. Since 1999, the Program’s clients have included local governments throughout the six-county region (Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco and Pinellas Counties); other Florida counties and Regional Planning Councils, the State of Florida, Chambers of Commerce, service organizations, non-profit research and policy bodies such as Florida Tax Watch, and various consulting firms.
Topics have included identifying the economic impacts of potential new businesses, corporate relocations, transportation studies, studies on economic aspects of environmental issues, taxation, workforce development, and many other public policy questions facing the Tampa Bay region and the State of Florida.
