Blight to Bright: The Region Comes Together to Learn about Brownfields

The Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, in collaboration with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, hosted a virtual event titled “Brownfields Workshop: Blight to Bright” on Friday, January 31, 2025. This interactive session offered valuable insights into the economic, social, and environmental advantages of redeveloping brownfields. It also showcased successful regional initiatives from the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council and highlighted available funding opportunities to support local revitalization efforts within the Tampa Bay region.

Local government staff from across the Tampa Bay area attended the workshop and had the opportunity to share their ongoing or planned initiatives related to brownfield redevelopment. This event marked the first in a series of workshops designed to address the needs of the region’s local governments in tackling brownfield challenges.
