TBRPC’s Director of Resiliency Speaks Alongside Tampa and St. Petersburg Mayors

On May 21st, Director of Resiliency Cara W. Serra AICP CFM participated in Tampa Bay Times’ Spotlight Tampa Bay at The Palladium Theatre in downtown St. Petersburg.

This panel was the third in a series of community dialogues hosted by the Times. The Times began hosting Spotlight Tampa Bay in 2023 to foster enlightened conversations between its journalists, community leaders, and readers on important issues facing the region and state. 

The panelists discussed how Florida, and specifically the Tampa Bay region, are preparing for increasing temperatures, rising sea levels, and more frequent and stronger storms. 

Panelists also included City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, City of St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch, USF Oceanography Professor Dr. Gary Mitchum, and Standford University Senior Fellow Emerita Dr. Terry Root.
